The Airborne Toxic Event est un groupe de rock américain formé à Los Angeles, Californie, en 2006. Leur son se caractérise par des mélodies accrocheuses, des paroles introspectives et une forte composante émotionnelle. Le nom du groupe vient du roman de Michael Crichton « L'événement toxique aérien », qui explore les conséquences d'un désastre environnemental catastrophique. Parmi leurs chansons les plus connues figurent « Sometime Around Midnight », « Dirty Diamonds » et « Wishing Well ». Leur album de début, « The Airborne Toxic Event », sorti en 2008, a connu un grand succès auprès du public et de la critique, atteignant la 14e place du classement Billboard 200.
