Machine Head est un groupe américain de heavy metal originaire d'Oakland, en Californie. Formé en 1989, le groupe a atteint la renommée internationale avec son album de début *Burn My Eyes* (1994), considéré comme un classique du thrash metal des années 90. Le son du groupe est caractérisé par des riffs lourds, des mélodies accrocheuses et des paroles introspectives qui abordent des thèmes tels que la colère, la frustration et le dégoût social. En 1997, est sorti *The More Things Change*, un album qui a marqué un tournant vers des sonorités plus agressives et expérimentales, avec des influences du nu metal. Parmi les chansons les plus représentatives de Machine Head figurent «Davidian», «Imperium», «Halo» et «Bloodshed».
