Capital Cities è un duo indie pop statunitense formatosi nel 2009 a Los Angeles, in California, composto da Ryan Merchant e Sebu Simonian. Il loro sound è caratterizzato da melodie orecchiabili, arrangiamenti orchestrali e testi che esplorano temi di amore, nostalgia e la vita moderna. Il successo internazionale arriva nel 2013 con il singolo "Safe and Sound", estratto dall'album di debutto omonimo. L'album raggiunge il top 10 delle classifiche americane e viene certificato disco d'oro. Tra i brani più noti del duo figurano anche "Kangaroo Court" e "One Minute More".
