Chris August est un auteur-compositeur et interprète américain de musique chrétienne contemporaine. Né en Floride en 1983, il a commencé sa carrière musicale à l'âge de 16 ans en publiant son premier album indépendant. En 2007, il a signé avec le label Sparrow Records et a connu un succès national avec le single "No Far Away". August est reconnu pour ses mélodies accrocheuses, ses paroles spirituelles et sa voix puissante. Parmi ses albums les plus importants figurent "What You're Looking For" (2010) et "Come Now Our King" (2013). Chris August continue de faire des tournées et d'enregistrer de la musique, restant une figure influente dans la scène musicale chrétienne contemporaine.

C'était le 5 avril 1980 quand un groupe inconnu et sans nom a joué dans une église désacralisée de la ville universitaire d'Athens en Géorgie. À peine deux semaines plus tard, ils ont choisi un nom R.E.M. , et ilt ont sortiun single et en 1983 un album "Murmur".
