Eric Patrick Clapton, nato a Ripley (Surrey) il 30 marzo 1945, è uno dei chitarristi più influenti e riconosciuti al mondo. Considerato un maestro del blues rock, ha attraversato diverse fasi musicali, dal rock psichedelico degli anni '60 alla musica folk e al jazz. Clapton ha collaborato con artisti di fama mondiale come George Harrison, Jimi Hendrix e Bob Dylan. Ha vinto 18 Grammy Award e nel 2000 è stato inserito nella Rock and Roll Hall of Fame sia come membro dei The Yardbirds che come artista solista. Tra i suoi brani più famosi figurano "Tears in Heaven", "Layla", "Wonderful Tonight" e "Cocaine". Alcuni dei suoi album più importanti sono "Slowhand", "Behind the Sun" e "Unplugged".
