The Decemberists sono un gruppo musicale indie folk rock originario di Portland, Oregon, Stati Uniti. Fondati nel 2000 dal cantante e compositore Colin Meloy, la band ha guadagnato popolarità per il suo sound epico e narrativo, spesso ispirato a tradizioni letterarie e storiche. Oltre a Meloy, i membri attuali includono Chris Funk (chitarra, violino), Jenny Conlee (pianoforte, organo), Nate Query (basso) e John Moen (batteria). Il loro stile musicale è caratterizzato da melodie accattivanti, testi poetici e arrangiamenti complessi che mescolano elementi di folk, rock, barocco pop e musica classica.
