Ensiferum est un groupe finlandais de folk metal originaire d'Helsinki. Fondé en 1997, le groupe se définit comme "heroic folk metal", un sous-genre qui fusionne des sonorités mélodiques avec des éléments du heavy metal classique et des influences folkloriques scandinaves. Ensiferum a sorti quatre albums studio, un EP, une compilation, trois singles et trois démos. Parmi ses chansons les plus représentatives figurent "From Afar", "One Man Army" et "In My Sword I Trust". Leur album de début, "Iron", date de 2001, suivi de "Victory Songs" (2004) et "Tannhäuser Gates" (2009). Le groupe est connu pour ses performances live énergiques et captivantes, qui incluent souvent des éléments théâtraux et chorégraphiques. Ensiferum a collaboré avec des artistes tels que Tarja Turunen de Nightwish.
