Overkill est un groupe américain de thrash metal formé en 1980 au New Jersey. Actifs depuis 1984, ils ont sorti 15 albums studio, 2 EPs, 2 albums live et un album de reprises. Le groupe possède une mascotte notable (nommée Chaly), un chauve-souris squelettique avec un visage de crâne, des ailes osseuses et des yeux verts, qui apparaît sur la plupart des couvertures de leurs albums. Overkill a connu de nombreux changements de formation, avec le chanteur Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth et le bassiste D.D. Verni comme membres fondateurs. Avec Anthrax (dont l'ancien guitariste principal, Dan Spitz, était également membre fondateur d'Overkill), le groupe est l'un des groupes de thrash metal les plus réussis de la côte Est américaine. Parmi les morceaux représentatifs figurent : "Hello From the Gutter", "Elimination", "The Grinding Wheel".

J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
