Vital Remains est un groupe américain de death metal originaire de Providence, Rhode Island, formé en 1988. Le groupe a contribué à définir l'évolution du genre avec un son brutal et technique, caractérisé par des riffs rapides et distordus, une batterie puissante et des growls gutturaux. Parmi leurs albums les plus importants figurent "Forever Underground" (1992), "The Cleansing" (1993) et "Deathlust" (1997). Vital Remains a collaboré avec des artistes comme Cannibal Corpse et Morbid Angel, consolidant sa position dans l'underground metal. Certains des morceaux les plus représentatifs du groupe incluent "Bloodshed", "The Serpent's Tongue" et "Entombment in the Temple of Death".
