Burning Spear, de son vrai nom Winston Rodney (1945), est un chanteur et musicien jamaïcain légendaire, reconnu pour sa voix puissante et ses paroles profondes. Né à Saint Catherine, en Jamaïque, il a commencé sa carrière musicale dans les années 1960, fortement influencé par le mouvement rastafari. Burning Spear s'est imposé comme l'un des plus grands représentants du roots reggae, un genre caractérisé par des textes politiques et sociaux. Parmi ses morceaux les plus célèbres figurent "Marcus Garvey", "Slavery Days" et "The Gathering of Tribes". Au cours de sa longue carrière, il a collaboré avec des artistes renommés tels que Peter Tosh et Lee Perry. Burning Spear est considéré comme l'un des pionniers du reggae moderne, dont la musique continue d'inspirer des générations de musiciens et de fans à travers le monde.
