Skankin' Pickle è stata una band ska punk americana formatasi a San Jose, in California, nel 1989 da Mike Park. Attiva fino al 1996, il gruppo ha contribuito a definire l'estetica e la sonorità dello ska punk californiano degli anni '90. Con un sound energico e orecchiabile, caratterizzato da riff di chitarra accattivanti, linee melodiche ska e testi ironici e spesso satirici, Skankin' Pickle ha conquistato una folta base di fan in tutto il mondo. Tra i brani più rappresentativi si ricordano "The Ballad of the Ska Punk", "Skankin' to the Beat" e "I Don't Wanna Be a Grown-Up". Il gruppo ha pubblicato diversi album, tra cui "The Skankin' Pickle EP" (1990), "Ska-Pocalypse Now!" (1992) e "Live at Gilman Street" (1994).

J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
