Marc Cohn è un cantautore statunitense nato a Cleveland, Ohio, nel 1954. Di famiglia ebraica, ha iniziato la sua carriera musicale negli anni '80 suonando in locali di New York. Nel 1991 ha pubblicato il suo album d'esordio omonimo, "Marc Cohn", che ha riscosso un enorme successo grazie al singolo "Walking in Memphis". Il brano, una ballata nostalgica ispirata a un viaggio a Memphis, è diventato un classico del genere folk-rock e ha conquistato le classifiche musicali di tutto il mondo. Per questo album, Cohn ha vinto nel 1992 un Grammy Award come miglior artista esordiente. Nel corso della sua carriera, Cohn ha pubblicato altri album di successo, tra cui "The Rainy Season" (1993) e "Join the Parade" (1998), collaborando con artisti come John Mayer e David Crosby. Il suo stile musicale è caratterizzato da melodie orecchiabili, testi poetici e una voce calda e rassicurante. J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
