The Summer Set est un groupe américain de pop rock formé en 2007 à Scottsdale, en Arizona. Composé de Brian Dales (chant), Jess Bowen (guitare), John Gomez (basse) et Stephen Gomez (batterie), le groupe a gagné en popularité dans les années 2010 grâce à son son énergique et ses mélodies accrocheuses. Leur album de début, "The Summer Set", est sorti en 2009, suivi par d'autres succès comme "Attack" (2011) et "Legendary" (2013). En 2017, après une période d'inactivité, ils ont sorti l'album "No Saint", qui a marqué un tournant vers des sonorités plus matures. Après avoir annoncé leur pause en 2017, The Summer Set est revenu à l'activité en 2021 avec le single "The Way We Used To" et un nouvel album en préparation.

J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
