Flipsyde est un groupe musical américain de genres rap/R and B/rock originaire d'Oakland, en Californie. Le groupe se compose de Steve Knight (chanteur et guitariste), Dave Lopez (guitariste), Jinho "the Piper" Ferreira (rappeur) et Chantelle Paige (chanteuse). Flipsyde a effectué des tournées extensives avec des artistes tels que Fort Minor, The Black Eyed Peas, Snoop Dogg et a participé à la tournée Anger Management. Leur single "Someday" a été choisi comme chanson thème pour les Jeux olympiques d'hiver de 2006 à Turin, en Italie, et figure également dans la bande originale du film de 2008 Never Back Down. Leur album de début, We the People, a connu le succès de trois autres singles : "Happy Birthday", "Trumpets (Never Be The Same Again)" et "Angel". J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
Le film très critiqué «Musique» de Sia qui voit son début en tant que réalisatrice vient d'être nominé comme meilleur film au Golden Globe 2021. L'actrice principale Kate Hudson a été nominée dans la catégorie Meilleure actrice.
