Alkaline Trio è una band punk rock americana formatasi a McHenry, nell'Illinois, nel 1996. I membri fondatori erano Matt Skiba (voce, chitarra), Dan Andriano (basso, cori) e Derek Grant (batteria). Inizialmente i tre si guadagnavano da vivere come ciclisti postini, ma presto decisero di dedicarsi completamente alla musica, intraprendendo tour nazionali ed internazionali. Il loro sound è caratterizzato da melodie orecchiabili, testi introspettivi e un'energia punk rock contagiosa. Tra le canzoni più famose ci sono "Private Eye", "Cringe" e "This Is My Life". L'album di debutto, "Goddamnit", risale al 1998 e ha segnato l'inizio di una carriera ricca di successi. Alkaline Trio è considerata una delle band punk rock più influenti degli ultimi anni, con un seguito fedele in tutto il mondo.
