Gavin Friday, pseudonimo di Fionan Martin Hanvey, è un cantautore e attore irlandese nato a Dublino nel 1959. Iniziò la sua carriera musicale negli anni '80 come frontman del gruppo Virgin Prunes, noto per il suo sound sperimentale e teatrale che mescolava elementi di post-punk, rock gotico e musica elettronica. Dopo lo scioglimento dei Virgin Prunes nel 1984, Friday ha avviato una carriera solista di successo, collaborando con artisti come Bono Vox degli U2 e Brian Eno.
