Vybz Kartel, dont le vrai nom est Adidja Palmer, est un chanteur et disc jockey jamaïcain né à Kingston en 1976. Connu également sous les noms d'Addi Di Teacha, World Boss et Gaza Emperor, il est considéré comme l'un des artistes de dancehall les plus influents du temps présent. Sa musique, caractérisée par des paroles souvent provocatrices et des rythmes endiablés, a contribué à définir le son du genre dans les années 2000. Parmi ses morceaux les plus célèbres figurent "Clarks", "Fever" et "Romping Shop". Kartel a également été impliqué dans des controverses juridiques, étant condamné pour meurtre en 2014. Malgré sa situation carcérale, il reste une figure importante de la scène musicale jamaïcaine.
