Jurassic 5 était un groupe de hip-hop composé de six membres originaire de Los Angeles, formé en 1994. Le groupe a acquis une grande popularité à la fin des années 1990 et au début des années 2000 pour sa musique innovante qui fusionnait des éléments de jazz, funk et soul avec le hip-hop traditionnel. Leur premier album était un EP éponyme en 1997, suivi par l'album complet *Jurassic 5 LP* en 1998. Parmi les morceaux les plus représentatifs figurent *What's Golden*, *Concrete Schoolyard* et *Jayou*. L'album de 2001 *Quality Control* a consolidé leur succès, atteignant la troisième place du classement Billboard Top R and B/Hip-Hop Albums. Jurassic 5 est considéré comme l'un des groupes de hip-hop les plus influents de sa génération, apprécié pour ses performances live énergiques et son approche créative de la musique.

J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
Le film très critiqué «Musique» de Sia qui voit son début en tant que réalisatrice vient d'être nominé comme meilleur film au Golden Globe 2021. L'actrice principale Kate Hudson a été nominée dans la catégorie Meilleure actrice.
