Roy Kelton Orbison (Texarkana, 23 aprile 1936 – Hendersonville, 6 dicembre 1988) è stato un cantautore e chitarrista statunitense, considerato uno dei più grandi artisti della musica rock 'n' roll. Orbison era noto per la sua voce potente e drammatica, spesso accompagnata da arrangiamenti orchestrali elaborati. I suoi successi degli anni '60 come "Oh, Pretty Woman", "Crying" e "Only the Lonely" lo hanno reso un idolo internazionale. Orbison ha collaborato con artisti come Elvis Presley e Buddy Holly, e ha continuato a registrare musica fino alla sua morte nel 1988.
