Next est un trio américain de R and B formé à Chicago, Illinois, dans les années 1990. Composé de R.L., T-Low et J.D., le groupe a atteint la renommée internationale avec leur single de 1994 "I Still Love You", qui a dominé les classements R and B et pop. D'autres succès incluent "Too Close" et "But!" . Next est connu pour son son lisse et mélodique, influencé par le funk et la musique soul classique. Le groupe a sorti trois albums studio : "Next" (1994), "The Future" (1996) et "The Best of Next" (2003).

J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
