The Stone Roses sono stati una band rock britannica formatasi a Manchester nel 1983. Il gruppo, composto da Ian Brown (voce), John Squire (chitarra), Mani (basso) e Reni (batteria), ha raggiunto il successo internazionale negli anni '90 con un sound psichedelico-indie influenzato dal Madchester scene. Il loro album di debutto omonimo del 1989 è considerato un classico del genere, contenente hit come "I Wanna Be Adored" e "Fools Gold". Dopo il successo dell'album "Second Coming" del 1994, la band si è sciolta nel 1996. Dopo una lunga pausa, i The Stone Roses sono tornati insieme nel 2011 con un nuovo album, "Beautiful South", e hanno continuato a esibirsi in tour internazionali.
