Les Lox sont un groupe de hip hop américain formé à Yonkers, New York, en 1994. Composé de Jadakiss, Styles P et Sheek Louch, le trio est connu pour son style dur et réaliste, influencé par la scène underground new-yorkaise des années 90. Le groupe a signé avec Bad Boy Records de Sean Combs, lançant leur album de début "Money, Power and Respect" en 1998. Après une série de succès et de collaborations avec des artistes comme DMX et Jay-Z, Les Lox ont fondé leur propre label indépendant, D-Block Records, en 2000. J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
