Queen Latifah, all'anagrafe Dana Elaine Owens, è un'artista multiforme americana nata a Newark, New Jersey, nel 1970. Iniziò la sua carriera come rapper negli anni '80, diventando una figura di spicco del movimento hip hop femminile con album come "All Hail the Queen" (1989) e "Black Reign" (1991). La sua musica è caratterizzata da testi incisivi che affrontano temi sociali e politici, spesso con un tocco di femminismo.
