Pentatonix est un groupe vocal a cappella américain formé en 2011 à Arlington, au Texas. Composé de Scott Hoying, Mitch Grassi, Kirstin Maldonado, Matt Sallee et Kevin Olusola, le groupe a acquis une renommée internationale grâce à sa capacité à créer des arrangements originaux et surprenants de chansons pop, classiques et de Noël. Pentatonix a remporté trois Grammy Awards : en 2015 pour la meilleure arrangement instrumental ou a cappella pour "Daft Punk", en 2016 pour la meilleure performance/chanson de musique chrétienne contemporaine pour "Hallelujah" et en 2017 pour la meilleure arrangement instrumental ou a cappella pour "The Sound of Silence". J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
