Lil Jon, né Jonathan Mortimer Smith, est un rappeur, producteur de disques et DJ américain originaire d'Atlanta, Géorgie, né en 1971. Connu sous le nom de « Roi du Crunk », Lil Jon a contribué de manière significative à la popularisation de ce genre musical caractérisé par des rythmes rapides, des basses puissantes et des paroles énergiques. Sa carrière a débuté dans les années 1990 avec la formation du groupe Lil Jon and The East Side Boyz, qui a sorti plusieurs albums à succès tels que « Crunk Juice » (2002) et « Kings of Crunk » (2004). J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
