Les Kinks sont un groupe de rock britannique formé à Londres en 1963 et actif jusqu'en 1996. Considérés comme l'un des groupes les plus influents de l'invasion britannique, ils ont laissé une empreinte indélébile sur la musique rock avec leur son caractéristique qui mêlait des mélodies pop accrocheuses à des paroles introspectives et souvent satiriques. La formation originale comprenait Ray Davies (chant, guitare), Dave Davies (guitare), Mick Avory (batterie) et Pete Quaife (basse). Quaife a été remplacé par John Dalton en 1966 puis définitivement en 1969. Les Kinks ont publié une vaste discographie d'albums à succès, notamment "Kinks Are the Village Green Preservation Society" (1969), "Lola Versus Powerman and the Moneygoround" (1970) et "Sleepwalker" (1973). Leurs chansons les plus célèbres incluent "You Really Got Me", "All Day and All of the Night", "Waterloo Sunset", "Lola" et "Days". Les Kinks ont été intronisés au Rock and Roll Hall of Fame en 1990.

J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
