Luther Ronzoni Vandross Jr., connu simplement sous le nom de Luther Vandross, était un chanteur et compositeur américain né à New York le 20 avril 1951. Considéré comme l'un des plus grands artistes soul de tous les temps, Vandross a dominé les classements musicaux des années 1980 et 1990 avec sa voix puissante et ses mélodies irrésistibles. Il a commencé sa carrière en tant que musicien de session pour des artistes comme David Bowie et Chaka Khan avant de sortir son premier album en 1981. Son style vocal, caractérisé par un registre profond et une technique impeccable, a influencé des générations de chanteurs soul.
