Stars on 45 était un groupe musical néerlandais de musique pop novelty qui a connu un succès bref mais significatif au Royaume-Uni, en toute l'Europe et aux États-Unis au début des années 1980. Le groupe a ensuite raccourci son nom en Stars On aux États-Unis, tandis qu'au Royaume-Uni, en Irlande et en Australie, ils étaient connus sous le nom de Starsound (En Australie, ils s'appelaient réellement Stars on 45). Le groupe, composé uniquement de musiciens de studio sous la direction de Jaap Eggermont, ancien membre des Golden Earring, a popularisé le medley en recréant fidèlement les chansons à succès et en les reliant entre elles avec un tempo commun et une piste de batterie implacable. L'objectif était de créer des disques dansants qui utilisaient des mélodies familières. Parmi leurs chansons les plus représentatives figurent "Stars on 45", "The Sound of Music" et "Love Train".
