Eyehategod è una band di sludge metal americana proveniente da New Orleans, formatasi nel 1988. Considerati uno dei gruppi più importanti dell'underground musicale della città, hanno contribuito in modo significativo alla scena metal del NOLA. La formazione originale è rimasta sostanzialmente invariata nel corso degli anni, con l'eccezione del bassista, che ha visto diversi cambiamenti di personale. Eyehategod sono noti per il loro suono pesante e distorto, influenzato dal doom metal, punk rock e hardcore. I testi spesso trattano temi oscuri come la depressione, la rabbia e la disillusione sociale. Tra i brani più rappresentativi figurano "Dopesick", "Take As Needed", e "Agitation! Propaganda!". L'album di debutto "In the Name of Suffering" (1990) è considerato un classico del genere sludge metal.
