Years and Years est un projet musical britannique fondé par le chanteur Olly Alexander. Initialement conçu comme un groupe, le son s'est développé en une fusion de synthpop, R and B et d'influences house des années 90, avec des résonances d'artistes comme Flying Lotus, Diplo, Radiohead, Jai Paul et Jamiroquai. Le projet a débuté en 2013 avec le single «Shine», suivi par l'album éponyme en 2015. L'album a connu un grand succès, atteignant la première place des classements britanniques et obtenant des certifications platine dans plusieurs pays. Alexander est connu pour ses performances théâtrales et charismatiques, qui ont contribué à faire d'Years and Years l'une des formations les plus innovantes et acclamées de la scène musicale contemporaine. Parmi les titres représentatifs, on peut citer «King», «Desire» et «Sanctify». En 2018, Alexander a annoncé une pause du projet pour se consacrer à de nouveaux projets musicaux. En 2021, il est revenu avec un nouvel album solo intitulé «Heart of Glass», qui a marqué un tournant stylistique vers des sonorités plus électroniques et introspectives.

J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
