Luna Sea è una rock band giapponese formatasi nel 1989 a Tokyo. I membri fondatori sono Ryuichi Kawamura (voce), Yasuhiro "Sugizo" Sugihara (chitarra), Shinobu "Inoran" Inoue (chitarra), Jun "J." Onose (basso) e Shinya Yamada (batteria). Questo lineup è rimasto invariato fino alla scioglimento del gruppo nel 2000. Luna Sea ha raggiunto un grande successo commerciale durante gli anni '90, vendendo milioni di dischi in Giappone e diventando uno dei gruppi rock più popolari del paese. Il loro stile musicale è caratterizzato da melodie orecchiabili, riff di chitarra potenti e testi introspettivi che spaziano tra temi come l'amore, la perdita e la ricerca di sé. Tra i brani più rappresentativi si ricordano "Rosier", "Gravity" e "Time is Money". Nel 2018 Luna Sea ha annunciato il suo ritorno con un nuovo album e tour mondiale.
