Vanilla Ice, dont le vrai nom est Robert Matthew Van Winkle, est un rappeur américain né à South Dallas, au Texas, en 1967. Connu pour son style de rap caractérisé par des influences du hip-hop old school et du pop, Vanilla Ice a atteint la renommée internationale avec le single "Ice Ice Baby" (1990), qui est devenu un succès planétaire, occupant le sommet des classements musicaux pendant plusieurs semaines. J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
