Terror Squad est un groupe de hip-hop originaire du Bronx, à New York, actif de la fin des années 1990 jusqu'à environ 2010. Fondé par Big Pun et Fat Joe, le groupe comprenait des rappeurs comme Armageddon, Prospect, Charlie Rock LD, Tony Montana, Cuban Link et Triple Seis, ainsi que le chanteur R and B Tony Sunshine, le DJ Khaled et les producteurs Cool and Dre et Nu Jerzey Devil. Leur premier album éponyme est sorti en 1999 et a marqué le début d'une carrière caractérisée par des succès comme "What Cha Gon Do", largement écrit par Big Pun, qui a consacré Terror Squad au grand public. Le groupe a continué à sortir des albums jusqu'en 2004, année de la mort de Big Pun, événement qui a marqué un tournant pour le groupe. Parmi leurs albums les plus importants figurent "The Album" (2001) et "True Story" (2003).

J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
