Fishbone est un groupe américain de rock alternatif qui fusionne ska, punk rock, funk metal et plus encore. Formé en 1979 à Los Angeles par John Norwood Fisher (basse, chant), le groupe a vu l'arrivée de Phillip "Fish" Fisher (batterie), frère de John ; Angelo Moore, également connu sous le nom de « Dr. Madd Vibe » (chant, saxophones allant du sopranino au basse et theremin) ; Kendall Jones (guitare) ; « Dirty » Walter A. Kibby III (chant, trompette) et Christopher Dowd (claviers, trombone, chant). Issus de la même scène musicale de Los Angeles qui a donné naissance aux Red Hot Chili Peppers et à Jane's Addiction, Fishbone s'est distingué par ses performances live énergiques et son approche éclectique du rock. Parmi leurs chansons les plus représentatives : « Lyin' Ass Bitch », « Everyday Sunshine », « Swim ».
