Rhinoceros fu un gruppo rock formatosi nel 1967 da Elektra Records come supergruppo. Il gruppo, sebbene rispettato in molti ambienti, non ha soddisfatto le aspettative dell'etichetta discografica. Come ha commentato un recensore: «Nonostante il fatto che il gruppo non abbia potuto soddisfare le aspettative create dalla macchina promozionale di Elektra Records, i contributi di Rhinoceros al rock meritano ancora più credito di quanto gli storici del rock ne abbiano dato». Il sound di Rhinoceros era caratterizzato da influenze psichedeliche e progressive, con un'attenzione particolare all'improvvisazione. Il gruppo ha pubblicato tre album in studio: "Rhinoceros" (1968), "The Last of the Free" (1969) e "Once Upon a Time" (1970). Alcuni dei brani più rappresentativi del gruppo includono "I'm Not Your Man", "The Ballad of John and Yoko" e "The Great Escape".
