Nice and Smooth est un duo de hip-hop américain formé en 1987 par Greg Nice et Smooth B, avec le DJ Teddy Tedd. Leur première collaboration remonte à 1988 avec le morceau « Skill Trade », qui les a menés à collaborer avec Big Daddy Kane sur l'album « It's a Big Daddy Thing » (1989). Nice and Smooth ont sorti quatre albums entre 1989 et 1997, tous entrés dans le classement américain des productions hip-hop. Leur style musical est caractérisé par des rimes complexes et des mélodies jazz influencées par l'âge d'or du hip-hop. Parmi leurs morceaux les plus représentatifs figurent « The World Is Yours », « Hip Hop Shop » et « Sometimes I Rhyme Slow ».

J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
