Bronski Beat était un trio britannique de synth pop actif de la fin des années 1970 au début des années 1990. Le groupe a connu un succès international en 1984 avec le single "Smalltown Boy", qui est devenu un hymne pour la communauté LGBTQ+. Bronski Beat s'est distingué en abordant ouvertement les thèmes liés à l'homosexualité dans ses chansons, souvent en incluant des commentaires politiques et sociaux. Le trio était composé de Jimmy Somerville (chant), Steve Bronski (claviers et percussions) et Larry Steinbachek (claviers et percussions). Après la dissolution du groupe, Jimmy Somerville a poursuivi sa carrière musicale comme leader des Communards et en tant qu'artiste solo. Parmi les titres les plus représentatifs de Bronski Beat, on peut citer également "It's a Sin", "Why" et "The Age of Consent".
