The Rentals sono un gruppo musicale statunitense formatosi nel 1995 a Los Angeles, California. Il nucleo del progetto è costituito da Matt Sharp, celebre per il suo ruolo di bassista nei Weezer durante gli anni '90. Sharp ha fondato The Rentals come una sorta di laboratorio creativo parallelo al lavoro con i Weezer, esplorando sonorità più elettroniche e pop-rock. Nel corso degli anni, la formazione del gruppo è cambiata diverse volte, ma Sharp rimane il principale compositore e leader del progetto. 2006 ha visto l'uscita dell'album "Return of the Rentals", un lavoro che ha riscosso un discreto successo di critica e pubblico. The Rentals sono noti per un sound caratterizzato da melodie orecchiabili, testi ironici e una forte componente elettronica. Tra i brani più rappresentativi si ricordano "Friends of Mine", "I'm Not Your Boyfriend" e "The New Year".

J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
