Salt-N-Pepa est un groupe féminin de hip hop américain formé à New York en 1985. Le trio, composé de Cheryl James (Salt), Sandra Denton (Pepa) et Deidra Roper (Spinderella), a révolutionné le paysage musical avec sa musique énergique et ses thèmes féministes. Leur album de début, "Hot, Cool and Vicious", sorti en 1986, a marqué le début d'une carrière réussie. Parmi leurs chansons les plus célèbres figurent "Push It", "Let's Talk About Sex" et "Whatta Man". Salt-N-Pepa ont remporté de nombreux Grammy Awards et vendu plus de treize millions d'albums dans le monde entier, devenant le groupe féminin de hip hop le plus prospère de l'histoire. Leur influence sur le genre musical a été énorme, ouvrant la voie à de nombreuses autres artistes féminines dans le hip hop.

J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
Le film très critiqué «Musique» de Sia qui voit son début en tant que réalisatrice vient d'être nominé comme meilleur film au Golden Globe 2021. L'actrice principale Kate Hudson a été nominée dans la catégorie Meilleure actrice.
