Stan Ridgway, noto semplicemente come Stan, è un cantautore e polistrumentista statunitense nato nel 1950. È famoso per essere stato il frontman del gruppo new wave californiano Wall of Voodoo, attivo dal 1978 al 1984. Dopo la sua esperienza con i Wall of Voodoo, Ridgway ha intrapreso una carriera solista di successo, pubblicando album e collaborando con diversi artisti. Tra le sue collaborazioni più note figurano quelle con la moglie Pietra Wexstun, con cui ha prodotto tre album, e lo storico batterista dei Police Stewart Copeland, con cui ha scritto la colonna sonora del film Rusty il selvaggio (1983). Ridgway è anche noto per aver fondato un progetto artistico chiamato Drywall insieme a sua moglie. Il suo stile musicale è caratterizzato da influenze diverse, tra cui rock, new wave, folk e blues. Alcuni dei suoi brani più rappresentativi includono "The Message", "Mexican Radio" (con i Wall of Voodoo), "Camouflage" e "Rusty il Selvaggio".

J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
