Eddy Grant, all'anagrafe Edmond Montague Grant, è un cantante, musicista e produttore discografico guyanese naturalizzato britannico. Nato a Georgetown, Guyana, nel 1948, si trasferisce in Inghilterra all'età di 10 anni. Inizia la sua carriera musicale negli anni '60 come membro del gruppo The Equals, con il quale ottiene successo internazionale con brani come "Baby Come Back" e "Black Skin Blue Eyed Boys". Dopo lo scioglimento del gruppo, Grant intraprende una carriera da solista nel 1976, ottenendo un grande successo mondiale con l'album "Gimme Hope Jo'anna", che include il brano omonimo e il celebre "Electric Avenue". Il suo stile musicale è caratterizzato da un mix di reggae, pop, rock e influenze caraibiche. Grant ha collaborato con numerosi artisti internazionali, tra cui Elton John e Bob Marley.
