The Gap Band était un groupe musical américain de R and B et funk actif de la fin des années 1970 au début des années 1990. La formation originale était composée de trois frères : Charlie, Ronnie et Robert Wilson. Originaire de Tulsa, Oklahoma, ils ont connu le succès national dans les années 1980 avec des tubes comme "Outstanding", "You Dropped a Bomb on Me" et "Burnin' for You". Leur style musical, caractérisé par des rythmes funk énergiques, des mélodies accrocheuses et des paroles abordant des thèmes d'amour, de la vie quotidienne et d'aspirations sociales, a influencé des générations d'artistes.
