Yo La Tengo è un trio indie rock americano formatosi nel 1984 da Ira Kaplan e Georgia Hubley, sposati all'epoca. Il nome del gruppo, in spagnolo significa "Io lo ho". Dopo due anni di attività, hanno pubblicato il loro album d'esordio, iniziando una carriera che ha visto la luce con l'uscita di quindici album in studio. La band è nota per un sound caratterizzato da atmosfere psichedeliche, noise rock e folk, spesso mescolate a influenze pop. Yo La Tengo ha costruito una solida base di fan grazie alla loro musica sperimentale e al loro approccio live coinvolgente. Tra i brani più rappresentativi si ricordano "Big Day Coming", "Nowhere Near", "Sudden Organ" e "From a Motel 6". L'album "I Am Not Afraid Of You And I Will Beat Your Ass" del 2006 è stato accolto con grande entusiasmo dalla critica.
