Dub Pistols est un groupe britannique spécialisé dans la musique dub et le big beat, fondé à Londres en 1996 par l'ancien promoteur de clubs Barry Ashworth. Connus pour leur son énergique qui mélange des éléments reggae, ska et hip hop, le groupe a compté parmi ses membres Jason O'Bryan (basse), T.K. Lawrence (chant), John King (guitare) et Steve Hunt (turntablist). Parmi les collaborateurs invités figurent Blade, James Dewes Sheffield (JMS), Rodney King et Terry Hall. En 2008, Dan Bowskill a rejoint le groupe. Dub Pistols ont sorti plusieurs albums, dont "The Dub Pistols" (1998) et "A State of Emergency" (2003), recevant des éloges pour leur musique innovante et leurs performances live captivantes.

J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
