Living Colour è un gruppo musicale statunitense di genere alternative metal, formatosi a New York nel 1984. Considerati tra i maggiori esponenti del funk metal, hanno influenzato molti gruppi nu metal successivi come Sevendust, P.O.D. e Limp Bizkit. Il loro sound si caratterizza per l'uso di riff funky, groove serrati e testi spesso politici e sociali. La formazione originale comprendeva Vernon Reid (chitarra), Corey Glover (voce), Doug Wimbish (basso) e Mujahid Abdul-Rahman (batteria). Il loro album di debutto, *Living Colour*, uscito nel 1987, ottenne un grande successo di critica e pubblico. Il singolo "Cult of Personality" divenne un inno per la generazione grunge degli anni '90. Nel corso della loro carriera hanno pubblicato altri album di successo come *Time's Up* (1989) e *Stain* (1993). Living Colour si è sciolto nel 1995, ma ha fatto il suo ritorno nel 2000 con un nuovo album, *The Book of Love*.
