Selena (1971-1995), all'anagrafe Selena Quintanilla Pérez, è stata una cantante, ballerina, stilista, modella e attrice statunitense di origini messicane. Considerata la «Regina del Tex-Mex», ha raggiunto un successo straordinario negli anni '90 con il suo stile musicale che fondeva elementi di musica latina, pop e country. Selena iniziò a esibirsi all'età di 6 anni nel gruppo familiare, i Selena y Los Dinos. Nel 1989 pubblicò l'album *Dulce Amor*, che la consacrò come artista di successo. Il suo stile musicale innovativo, le performance energiche e il carisma hanno conquistato un pubblico vasto e eterogeneo.
