Bruce Cockburn è un cantautore canadese nato nel 1945. Iniziò la sua carriera negli anni '60, pubblicando album folk influenzati da artisti come Bob Dylan e Joni Mitchell. Nel corso degli anni '70, le sue canzoni hanno spesso esplorato temi di fede cristiana, ma in modo non didascalico, mettendo l'accento sulla compassione per il prossimo. Negli anni '80, la sua musica si è fatta più politica, con brani come "If I Had A Rocket Launcher", ispirati dalla sua esperienza in un campo profughi guatemalteco per conto di Oxfam. Cockburn ha sempre goduto di una grande popolarità in Canada, dove è stato introdotto nella Canadian Music Hall of Fame nel 2001. Tra i suoi album più importanti ricordiamo "Dancing In The Dragon's Jaws" (1973), "Last Night Of The World" (1984) e "The Charity Of Lovers" (1991). J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
