Death From Above 1979 è un duo canadese di musica elettronica rock formatosi a Toronto nel 2001. Composto da Jesse Keeler (basso, tastiere, voce) e Sebastien Grainger (batteria, voce), il gruppo è noto per il suo suono potente e minimalista, caratterizzato da riff di basso martellanti, batteria frenetica e testi taglienti. Il loro debutto, l'EP *Death From Above*, risale al 2004, seguito dall'album di successo *You're a Woman, I'm a Machine* (2004), che ha contribuito a definire il sound del post-punk revival degli anni 2000. Dopo una pausa nel 2009, Death From Above 1979 è tornato con l'album *The Physical World* (2014) e continua ad essere attivo nella scena musicale contemporanea. Tra i brani più rappresentativi del gruppo ricordiamo "Romance Song", "Black History Month" e "Trainwreck 1979".

J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
