Michelle Shocked, pseudonimo di Karen Michelle Johnston, è una cantautrice americana nata nel 1968. Attiva dal 1980s, Shocked si distingue per il suo stile folk-rock incisivo e le sue testi spesso provocatori che affrontano temi sociali come la guerra, l'uguaglianza di genere e la religione. Il suo album di debutto, *Texas Hold 'Em*, pubblicato nel 1986, ha riscosso un grande successo grazie al singolo "Anchorage". Shocked è nota per le sue performance dal vivo energiche e coinvolgenti, spesso caratterizzate da improvvisazioni e interventi politici. Tra i suoi brani più rappresentativi figurano "Arkansas Traveler", "The Last Ballad of the American West" e "I'm a Little Bit Country". J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
