Montgomery Gentry est un duo de musique country américain formé au Kentucky en 1999. Le groupe est composé de Troy Gentry (voix, guitare) et Eddie Montgomery (voix, basse). Leur son mélange la musique country traditionnelle avec des influences du rock et du hard rock, créant un mélange énergique et engageant. Parmi leurs succès les plus notables figurent "Hillbilly Badass", "Something to Be Proud Of" et "My Town". Montgomery Gentry a remporté de nombreux prix, dont le Grammy Award pour la meilleure performance country en duo ou groupe en 2001 pour la chanson "Hillbilly Badass". Le duo a sorti huit albums studio, vendant des millions d'exemplaires dans le monde entier. En 2017, Troy Gentry est décédé tragiquement dans un accident et le groupe s'est dissous.

J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
